Manx Maid (2) was the first car ferry built for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company. She was built by Cammell Lairds of Birkenhead and launched on 23rd January 1962. Her length was 344 feet and her breadth was 50feet. She had a gross tonnage of 2724. Her Maiden Voyage took place on 23rd May 1962 with a sailing from Douglas to Liverpool. Her final sailing for the Company took place on 9th September 1984. After Lay-up in Birkenhead Docks she was sold and was then towed to Bristol in April 1985. She returned to the Mersey in February 1986 to be broken up at Garston shortly after.
